I love October!
Fall in Utah means beautiful warm days and cool nights.
It means a change of seasons.
The mountains are covered in Fall leaves, red, orange, yellow and bits of evergreen.
Fall means the start of the Holidays!
Halloween has always been a favorite time of year, I have so many fun memories from my own childhood and my children’s childhood.
Halloween growing up was about traditions.
As a family we would make homemade suckers for our friends, neighbors and our school classes.
Everyone had a job. Lifesaver eyes, candy corn nose, red licorice for the mouth.
My Mom had a huge slab of marble that she would pour the hot candy onto and we would have to hurry to do our job before the candy hardened.
When i had my own little family we started our own family traditions.
Handmade costumes, school parades, chili cook-offs, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, trunk or treat and decorating our home.
i go ALL OUT for Halloween.
as my children have grown into adults we still continue most of these traditions.
Decorating our home is my favorite now that i don't spend hours sewing costumes.
With my Spooky Spark workshops i get started early!
this year is no different.

where there are crows there are lots of feathers, this wreath was created in a past Spooky Spark workshop!

i love Halloween, i love the spooky whimsical time of year, it's really a kid holiday but it keeps me young!
outside there is the bluest of blue skies, my window is open and a cool breeze is blowing on my shoulder, the sun is out and the smell of my Pumpkin Muffins is making the house feel like the perfect Fall day.
