Happy Valentines Day loves.
Valentines Day at the Aslett house isn't rose petals on the bed, huge boxes of chocolates or diamond rings...
it is a special day to show love for one another, to remind those we love that they are important to us.
honestly, i try to do that everyday.
but today is a little more special.
a day set aside to show love.
this year for Valentine's my gifts to my Mr. are simple, handmade and staight from the heart.
besides the canvas i created for Grant i made a handmade Valentine and a 14 reasons why I LOVE you, flip card!
i created my first one of these as a count down to Halloween
and have made one for the month of November
and December.
in love with the idea and how easy it is to create.
you start with a simple .99 Frame from Ikea.
{this is NOT an item they ship FYI}
for Halloween I just left the frame white.
For Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentines I spray painted the frame a dirty gold.
To create the cards i use a Dollar Store set of math cards.
they are a light weight chipboard and perfect to give my cards the weight they need to not rip through.
Get out your stash!
the awesome thing about this project is using all the bits and pieces you have and the scraps from other projects!
simply cover both sides of your cards with pretty paper or cardstock then embellish!
attach your cards by punching holes at the top and using binder rings.
easy. peasy.
i always add a little Junque Bow ribbon to the base of the frame too!
i love this little project.
it's easy, i used what i had and each little card is like a love note to my Mr.
this year we are keeping Valentines Day simple.
just us.
being together is all i care about.
i love us.
i love my home and decorating for the holidays.
i love making things by hand to show my love for my family.
it's pretty simple.
