Christmas has come.
and gone.
what a beautiful day i had with all of my kids.
Christmas eve we spent at my sister Annie's house.
we had an amazing dinner.
opened a few gifts.
re-connected.
laughed.
and of course i even cried.
i love my sister and her husband Brian.
they are so good to me and my family.
it was so great to be with them in their beautiful home.
Christmas day was magic.
we all slpet in late.
i made a big breakfast Ebeliskivers a Romney tradition.
then we opened gifts.
there were some fun surprises.
my kids spoiled me.
Meg is the ring leader of course.
after opening gifts we lounged for a while then went to my Mom and Dad's for dinner with all of my family who is in town.
The Romneys, Kelms and Asletts.
My darling 84 year old mother cooked a turkey.
It was nice to be togeter.
we listened to stories, sang carols, shared what Christmas means.
i love Christmas.
i love having my kids with me.
i love buying gifts for friends and family.
i love decorating my home.
the tree.
the lights.
getting together with Family and friends.
the people i love.
i truly am grateful.
i feel overwhelmed with gratitude towards a loving Heavenly Father who knows me and my needs.
Christmas is a special time of the year.
i hope and it is my prayer that you and your family had a beautiful Holiday as well. That you felt joy and love.
Santa came.
but the most important thing to me were not the beautiful gifts under my tree, it was being with the most important people i love.

woke up this morning feeling so grateful.

last night Chrissy & Jamie and i were able to go to the most beautiful concert.

hello Monday.
what a great weekend.
i almost didn't want to get out of bed this morning knowing that the weekend was over.
then i gave myself a little attitude adjustment...

i do love Mondays.
i love fresh starts.
that's what Mondays are.
the start of a new week of great things to come.
this past weekend was relaxing.
nothing pressing.
i put away the Spark your Christmas mess.
{oh my}
& started a new creative mess.
{love}
i love knowing there is always some type of creative mess going on in my life.
i went down into the kitchen this morning and there it was.
i am working on catching up on my December Daily.
Saturday i did the cover.
love it.
yesterday i worked on day 1 & 2
{i know i am way behind}
but i love the process.
i love picking the papers i am going to be designing with.
i am using a mix of papers from a bunch of different companies.
loving the traditional.
this year i am using Bazzill's 9x12 raw album.
i love them.
also the Lickty Slips page protectors are awesome.
i love gathering my photos.
recording my memories.
i am a scrapbooker.
it really makes my heart happy.
this past weekend was a perfect way to end last week.
Spark your Christmas videos were all finished, up and loaded.
it was a TON of work.
i loved every minute.
thank you to all of you who took my first on-line workshop!
i feel really good about it.
the class will be available for the next 3-6 months.
i am working on ideas for another!
Friday night Meg and i did a little Christmas shopping.
i love having older kids.
there is not rush to get the latest toy or Fad gift.
i am taking it slow this year.
looking forward to a relaxed holiday.
the kids will all be here with me.
Saturday night Amy {aka Gladdy} and I went to a Christmas party at our neighbor's house.
it was amazing.
the decor was stunning.
the food delicious.
loved being Amy's date.

I can't believe it's day 3 of Spark your Christmas.
that it's December 7th.

i love sitting by my Christmas tree at night just enjoying the sparkle of this season.
i love being able to look around my home and enjoy all of the things i have created to decorate my home for the holidays.
these are the simple things of joy the holidays bring to me.

Yesterday was a day filled with friendship.
i met some of my dearest friends for lunch at Dear Lizzie.
{a very special place for me}
i was so excited to actually get dressed up for fun.
{even my outfit had a Spark your Christmas feel...LOL}
no lights or cameras.
if feels so good to have Spark your Christmas done.
my house is "almost" back to normal.
{as if, glitter is everywhere}
yesterday was just what i needed after a long weekend of creating & filming.
i love friends that when i see them i want to jump up and down because i am so giddy to be with them.
yes, i still get giddy.
at 46.
i feel beyond grateful for the women i have in my life.
i am blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing women.
yesterday was one of "those" days.
giddy with excitement.
sharing laughter.
stories.
gifts.
ideas.
making plans.
looking at calendars.
being inspired.
laughing.
sharing hardships.
tears.
dreams.
beliefs.
hopes.
& joys.
yesterday was filled with all of these things.
over the last 2 years the women in my life have become such an important part of who i am.
who i want to be.
as my children have grown.
now that i am alone.
not a day goes by that one of my friends doesn't call to chat, e-mail me, text me, connect with me on facebook or even twitter.
what a gift friendship is.
i am overwhelmed.
grateful.
blessed.
as i sit here thinking about it, in my home, decorated for the holidays.
i know i am one lucky girl.

Thursday Utah experienced an actual Hurricane.
winds over 100 miles an hours.
it was intense.
i have never in my life experienced something so frightening.
i woke to the sound of my window shaking, the wind howling.
i thought for sure the glass was going to blow out.
my power had been out for hours.
my house was freezing.
from my window i could see the destruction.
trees were down, all of the street signs in my neighborhood are down. and from my window i could see several 18 wheeler trucks turned over on the freeway.
like i said. intense.
Meg lost this beautiful OLD pine tree in front of her house.
Luckily.
we were all safe.
my roof is being repaired today.
the men in the neighborhood have cleared the debris from the yards.
several hundred trees were lost.
someone found my garbage can...
the national guard was called in yesterday to help clear debris.
last night another wind storm blew through.
all is calm now.
CRAZY.
life is fragile.
this was a reminder.
the weekend was spent cleaning up.
making creative messes.
filming Spark your Christmas.
time with my girls.
all is well.
