it's a monday.
the weekend was full of family and friends.
Meg's 25th birthday was filled to the brim with eating, shopping, being together and gifts.
lot's of really fun gifts.
being able to spend the entire day together was a gift.
i made the most amazing cake to celebrate Meg's birthday.
she requested coconut cake.
i got a delicious recipe from my dear friend Chrissy.
i had never baked it before.
let me just say.
A.MAZE.ING.
i normally don't brag on my baking skills.
{besides the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins}
wink.
this cake was TO DIE.
i will check with her to see if i can "share" the recipe with you.
Sunday Kim called and said she was here from Italy.
i was so so excited.
when she got to my house we just hugged and both cried.
i have missed her so much.
it's so amazing to have a friendship that has lasted as long as ours.
34 years now.
and counting.
she and i spent the morning doing "American" things.
Breakfast at ihop.
Starbucks.
Shopping at Target.
reconnecting.
talking.
laughing.
our normal.
She will be here for 2 weeks.
Her daughter Anna is getting married Friday.
i hope to spend as much time with her as i can.
she is my original true.
having good friends is a gift.
Sunday was the Romney Family Thanksgiving.
this year is the "outlaw" year as my dad calls it, so we had Thanksgiving yesterday together.
lots of good food.
stories told.
laughter.
sharing what we are grateful for.
being together as a family is a gift.
my boys were in Idaho.
i missed them dearly.
all in all the weekend was filled with gifts.
birthday gifts.
the gift of friendship.
the gift of family.
i am blessed beyond.
i am grateful.
to celebrate and to get the season going i have a gift to share with one of you.
my dear dear friend Mindy Gledhill has the gift of voice.
she has the voice of an angel.
and a heart of gold.
what a gift.
she has shared with me one of her latest CD's to be given away to one of you.
Winter Moon is filled with some of my favorite old classics and of course some new songs that will surely become favorites too.
like i said.

Mindy does have a gift. I used her song"Anchor" for a slideshow I created for my wedding anniversary as a gift to my hubby. I LOve her voice and her songwriting. Of course you two would be friends :) Thanks Margie. <3

I've been lamenting the fact that Mindy's. NEw record isn't a available anywhere near where I live. From the samples I've heard, though, the cd sounds as fantastic as ever!
Also, I'm jealous that you get to spend the holidays with your family. I think that has got to be the best gift ever!
