I'm Just a girl

All is calm...

   

Christmas day has come and gone...There are no gifts under the tree, almost all of the Christmas goodies have been eaten, new stuff is being enjoyed, listened to, worn or played...We had a wonderful Christmas...It was so much fun just being "us"... We spent Christmas eve eating a traditional feast, Honey baked ham, cheesy potatoes, rolls, salad and my kids favorite...Christmas jello! they LOVE it! We hung out eating, watching our favorite Christmas movie, A Christmas story, we played Phase 10 and got to open our Christmas Jammies! A tradition...22 years and counting! It was a lovely night...
    Christmas morning we woke up late, you get to do that when your kids are grown-up! I made ebelskivers and Max made mounds of bacon! Then we opened our gifts!  It was pretty nice, no rush, no stress... We spent a few hours at my Mom and Dad's house with my sibs and their kids...Mom made a huge meal...We talked about what we were grateful for in the year 2008, it was nice to hear everyone's accomplishments and things they were grateful for... After a long day we went to the movie Benjamin Buttons...it was a great way to end a great day...I loved the movie, it was sweet and touching...(and brad pitt is so dang good looking)
    Everyone was thrilled with their gifts and grateful to be together...No complaining, no stressing...No returns...
    I love Christmas...I love the lights, i love my Christmas tree, i love to decorate my home, i love buying gifts for the ones i love,i love spending time with family and friends, i love love love everything about Christmas...but most of all i love time with my family celebrating our Savior's birth...I am so grateful for all that I have and am blessed with, and I know it comes from him...

Twas the day before Christmas...

    

And all through my house everyone is still sleeping...Even little Rocco, the closest thing we have to a mouse...All the gifts have been wrapped, some deliveries still need to be made, some cooking needs to be done...The Aslett's are ready to celebrate our Savior's birth...

We wish YOU a Merry Christmas!

   

I got the Aslett Christmas card in the mail Monday...All 120 of them...And yes the girls and I made them by hand...I just wish that I had the time and ability to send all of the amazing people in my life and the people that I have met through this crazy world I live in a Christmas card!
     Christmas is a week a way, I have been wrapping gifts all evening, trying to get stuff done...This week we went to the Aslett Christmas party, the Romney Christmas party and tomorrow I have the Making Memories Christmas party...Parties, gift making, cooking, being together with the ones we love...That is what Christmas is all about...I am excited to be home for the holidays...It has been 10 years since we have been home for Christmas...We usually spend Christmas in Hawaii...Mind you with the 20 degree weather and the snow I have had moments of asking myself what the H was I thinking! LOL But, I am so excited to be home in the snow, with all my kids...We are going to just spend time together, cook, eat, play and celebrate!

The Christmas Season is in full swing...

    I have been so busy...So so busy...The holidays are in full swing at the Aslett house! The house is decorated, the tree looks great...Grant did an awesome job with the lights on the house we have our family Christmas parties this week...I have even bought some gifts! I will have my Christmas cards in the mail by Monday!
      I love this time of year! I love the holidays, time with family, creating gifts for all those we love, making treats for our friends and neighbors, and creating memories! I LOVE it! I hope your homes are filled with the spirit of Christmas...
